The Mayor’s big ideas challenge is open for entries!
21 February 2025
Tackling health inequalities: the Mayor’s big ideas challenge is open to any West Yorkshire-based SME that is interested in making a positive impact on the region’s communities. Submit your innovative products or services that aim to overcome health inequalities affecting local people and get the support you need to accelerate their development.
Eighty percent of what affects your health has little to do with healthcare. That’s why the challenge is open to solutions from any sector – whether it’s manufacturing, community engagement, environmental projects or beyond.
Successful entrants will get expert support to develop their innovative solutions.
What’s on offer:
- Twenty £20,000 development grants for finalists
- Three £100,000 final awards to support implementation and commercialisation
- Access to Nexus’s non-resident membership programme, providing not just access to a range of experts and support, but also access to their facilities
- Support tailored to finalists’ needs, with topics such as human-centric design, partnerships, commercialisation, investment readiness and more
To enter, submit the online entry form by 12:00 noon on Wednesday 7 May 2025.
If you want to find out more, sign up to a webinar or book a one-on-one support session on the West Yorkshire Combined Authority website.
