Bradford Bright Ideas Dragon's Den finalists selected

The finalists have been chosen to pitch their ideas to the Bradford Bright Ideas programme, managed by Medipex, in a Dragon’s Den.

Fifteen innovations were shortlisted from over 25 expressions of interest received following the Bradford Bright Ideas Open for Innovation launch event in October 2016. Now, five proposals from small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) have been selected to go through to the final round.

The five SMEs will now present their proposal to a panel of experts who will form a ‘Dragon’s Den’ on the 31 January. Each SME will be asked to convince the ‘Dragon’s’ how their will help address on of the three key health and wellbeing challenges in Bradford. These three areas are; children and young people in urgent and emergency care, medicines optimisation, and referrals to and discharge from hospital based services. They will also be asked to demonstrate how their proposal will deliver better patient outcomes at low cost, alongside factors such as achievability and potential impact.

Each proposal selected to present at the Dragon’s Den has been rigorously assessed for feasibility by Medipex, DHEZ Ltd and clinical leads at NHS Bradford City and NHS Bradford Districts Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs).

The chosen projects are due to start in April 2017.
