Medipex Appoints New CEO

Medipex are pleased to announce that Dr Terry Corbitt (on the right) has been appointed as the CEO of Medipex with effect from 1st April 2017.  Terry takes over from Richard Clark (on the left) who retires at the end of May after 13 years of running Medipex.  Terry joined Medipex in 2004 as one of the first members of the team and has been responsible for many of Medipex successes including setting up and initially running Zilico Ltd, a point of care diagnostic for detection of cervical cancer, and most recently Leeds Solution Ltd, that is developing a novel organ preservation fluid used during transplantation of kidneys and livers.

Terry has broad experience in all aspects of technology transfer having worked for a number of organizations during the last 21 years in intellectual property management roles particularly related to healthcare technology. Terry is looking forward to leading Medipex and relishes the challenge of adding to its impressive track record.

Medipex is the Innovation Hub covering the Yorkshire and Humber and East Midlands regions. It was set up in 2004 to identify truly innovative ideas conceived by NHS staff and, where possible, to protect any intellectual property associated with those ideas and facilitate their commercial exploitation. Since 2004, Medipex has evaluated over 1,500 ideas put forward by NHS staff and manages a pipeline of successful innovations. As well as working with NHS staff, Medipex also works with academia and a wide range of medical technology companies to help them link with NHS staff to facilitate development of medical technology products.
