Medipex partners with new health innovation investor

Medipex is pleased to announce it has entered into a long term partnership with Synergix Health to accelerate the development and adoption of technology innovations into the NHS. Synergix Health, a new health innovation and investment platform, have recently secured substantial funds from a group of private investors who are looking to invest in innovations arising from within the NHS. The initial focus for the company will be medical devices, diagnostics and digital health.

Medipex expertise in commercialising NHS innovations as well as its wider relationships with key players including universities and the wider healthcare industry will provide Synergix Health with access to an impressive pipeline of emerging product and service innovations. Synergix Health view the early adoption of these innovations by the NHS as both an important and necessary investment criteria as do other health systems around the world who may look to adopt and learn from NHS innovation.

Richard Clark, CEO Medipex said “Working with the NHS over the last 12 years we have seen some brilliant ideas and when matched with the right financial backing they can grow to become world beating products. We are always looking at ways to improve our service offering to our members, and over the last few years it has become a real frustration for us in finding the right sort of finance in order to properly evaluate the potential of these ideas which may then take several years of development before they are market ready. We are confident that through our partnership with Synergix Health and our relationship with the NHS we will be now have the ability to rapidly accelerate the more promising projects and help the NHS continue to deliver a first class service.”

Dr Bayju Thakar, one of the founders and the Business Development Director of Synergix Health said, “We approached Medipex to be our strategic partner because of their impressive track record in assessing and commercialising good ideas arising from the NHS and also because of their understanding of the wide range of NHS bodies currently involved in the NHS innovation landscape. We anticipate making our first investment decisions shortly and with Medipex help we will be developing partnerships with those NHS organisations who want to work with us to commercially exploit their ideas to improve patient care at scale”.
