Bradford CCGs open for innovation with first stage shortlisting announcement
18 November 2016
Over 50 SMEs attended the Bradford Bright Ideas briefing event on Oct 18.
During the briefing they were invited to submit solutions to:
- To reduce high level A&E attendances and unplanned short-stay admissions of children with acute breathing problems such as asthma
- To improve patients’ adherence to their medicines and reduce medicine waste
- To reduce unnecessary outpatient referrals/follow-ups and improve co-ordination between primary and secondary care ideally by directly reducing outpatient health service utilisation, especially for respiratory conditions with high outpatient volumes.
25 expressions of interests were received and 15 selected for the next stage of this process, beyond our original target of identifying 12 solutions. The successful SMEs were informed on the 14th of November 2016.
Those selected have been given 6 weeks to prepare their proposals, which need to be submitted by the deadline of Friday the 6th of January 2016 (5pm).
Following the closing date, the proposals will be evaluated by a panel drawn from Bradford CCGS, DHEZ and Medipex. The panel will rate the proposal to identify the most likely to deliver better patient outcome for lower cost. Additionally, the full proposals will be discussed by the panel for its overall ‘achievability’ and impact. The selected solutions will then go through to the final stage: the Dragon’s Den on the 31st of January 2016.
