Spreading the Word on Innovation
Our regional Innovation Scout Network is going from strength to strength, with new members joining us on a rolling basis. We now have over 60 individuals who are actively supporting innovation in 23 different NHS organisations and we continue to register new members on a rolling basis. We are delighted to welcome Dr Fabian Seymour who will be heading up the Innovation Scout Network on behalf of Medipex, who brings a decade’s experience of delivering entrepreneurial and innovation training to a variety of audiences and is particularly committed to developing case-study led training.
Medipex and the YHAHSN are working together to develop a programme of optional higher-level training courses and events, driven by the needs of Innovation Scouts. These events are intended to support the core training module “Good Ideas and What to Do With Them” by covering the whole pathway of innovation development from developing an innovative culture within the workplace and identification of unmet needs through to adoption and diffusion of proven technologies and sharing best practice. We will publicise such events through our website and newsletters once details have been finalised and also welcome ideas from NHS staff on what they see as gap in their knowledge around the innovation space.
All NHS staff, regardless or role or grade, are eligible to join our network. We were delighted when staff from Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust, Julie Mellor and Amanda McKie asked us to send them some promotional materials to publicise the network at the “I care Celebrating Nursing conference”, with a view to recruiting more members.
