NHS Innovation Scout Network launches in Yorkshire and Humber region

In association with the Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network, Medipex is establishing a network of Innovation Scouts throughout the region to enhance innovation activity in participating NHS organisations.

Innovation Scouts are supported by Medipex and are “innovation champions”, providing a local point of contact for staff in their organisation regarding innovation and best practice.  Drawn from a variety of disciplines and areas of expertise, Scouts are provided with CPD accredited training in key areas of Intellectual Property & innovation management. Trained Scouts are then invited to join the national Innovation Scout Network to access peer support and further networking/training opportunities.

Experienced Medipex staff support the Scouts in their work to; identify new NHS innovations for further assessment and potential development; promote the dissemination of best practice and the diffusion of innovation between NHS organisations; facilitate links between NHS organisations and industry; raise awareness and understanding of the importance of effective Intellectual Property protection and management.

The Innovation Scout Network is a programme created by Health Enterprise East Limited who have licensed Medipex Limited to deliver the programme to NHS organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber region. The Innovation Scout Network was first piloted in 2008 and now comprises of nearly 80 Innovation Scouts in 25 trusts and healthcare organisations across Eastern England.
