Through its selection as a finalist for an Award at the BOA Congress 2017 in Liverpool on the 17-21st of September, E-NOF (Electronic Fractured Neck of Femur Pathway) was presented as 'Introduction of a paperless neck of femur pathway'. This was the opportunity to present the innovative system to the UK orthopaedics world and to launch it for wider adoption in the UK. Innovators from around the region gathered at Cedar Court Hotel near Wakefield for a networking event and awards ceremony where five teams were crowned winners across different innovation categories: Medical Devices and Diagnostics, GP and Community Care, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Self-Management and Service Improvement. Bradford Bright Ideas – Winner announced

An innovative app to help patients better manage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been chosen as the winner of Bradford Bright Ideas. The myCOPD app, developed by My mHealth Ltd, is an online platform which aims to empower patients through teaching better inhaler technique and developing their skills to help prevent their condition getting worse. Cervical cancer diagnostic specialist Zilico, has today announced a number of operational changes designed to better align its operations. Going forward, Zilico's flagship product ZedScan™, which improves the speed and accuracy in diagnosing pre-cancerous conditions of the cervix, will be sold directly to hospitals in Great Britain (Wales, Scotland & England) rather than through a third party distributor.
