Simple Rules Toolkit
The Simple Rules Toolkit created by the staff of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, provides generic advice and guidance to the NHS Staff engaged in collection of data for clinical audit, research and service improvement. At present they find it difficult to correctly categorise their data collection activity most of the time and comply with the increasingly complex ethical, legal and clinical governance requirements. This toolkit with simple rules will help any NHS staff to differentiate between clinical audit, research and service review activities thereby, follow established clinical governance practices and avoid potential harm to patients, staff or the Trust.
