JView
JView, a Java-based software package has been developed by Dr Peter Metherall of the medical physics and clinical engineering department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. JView is used for viewing nuclear medicine images in colour on any PC in a Trust, or via the internet in a clinician's own home. Picture Archiving and Communication systems (PACS) monitors which are optimised for X-rays can result in poor image quality and an inability to use colour. JView supplements PACS systems by allowing viewing and manipulation of nuclear medicine colour images on any PC leading to a more accurate diagnosis of the patient’s condition. JView has been licensed to Link Medical Ltd, a leading supplier of image processing software for nuclear medicine applications.
