Medipex Innovation Award Ceremony 2010 - 21st April
Runners up in the category were David Swann from University of Huddersfield, Bipin Bhakta from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Jonathan Ross from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Zoe Robertson and Simon Judge from Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Runners up were Danny Pearson and Neil Porter from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sandhya Pisharody from Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Jonathan Hughes also from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Nuthar Jassam from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
More than 170 people from Industry and the regional NHS gathered at Weetwood Hall on Wednesday April 21st for Medipex’s 2010 NHS Innovation Awards evening.
The sponsors of this year’s Innovation Awards and Showcase 2010 were NHS Yorkshire and the Humber, Skills for Health, UDL, Yorkshire Forward, Medilink Yorkshire and
£10,000 in total prize money was awarded to the winners in the 4 categories; Medical Devices and Diagnostics, Software and ICT, and Publications, Publications and Training Materials and Innovation Adoption and Diffusion.
The winner of the Medical Devices and Diagnostics Category, Alexander Oboh from

Jonathan Ross from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust entered in the Software and ICT category. His winning innovation was called 'Computerised, self-learning, autonomous control of Automated drug-infusions to support the Cardiovascular System in patients post Cardio Pulmonary Bypass'.

Heather Angilley from Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust entered the Publications and Training Materials category and won with her innovation 'Working together to help children with developmental coordination disorder in

Runners up in this category were Alison Thomas from NHS Barnsley, Catherine Howes from Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and Melanie Simmonds from NHS Rotherham. The runners up were Mariani Tanton from NHS Kirklees, Liz Webster from
The winner of the Innovation Adoption and Diffusion category Debrah Bates from Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust won with her innovation named 'Promoting breastfeeding through stopping the free supply of formula milk to newly delivered mothers in Northern Lincolnshire'.
